<p><b>Smoking ban in different countries of the world. Part 9</b></p> <p><b>USA</b></p> <p>Many cities and states consider or have already brought into action smoking ban. California has the most serious legislation on smoking control. There is nothing elsewhere in the world something like this. Ban acts on smoking inside or in within 1.5 meters distance from any state institutions, it came into force in 1993 and lately the distance has been increased up to six meters. Smoking is also prohibited in restaurants, bars and on closed working places and on beaches on entire country territory. In New York, smoking was banned in bars, clubs and restaurants since March 2003. Laws on smoking control have sparked off strong disputes in USA. Some bar owners told that their business bear losses because of these laws, after this smokers have claimed that their rights are infringed but non-smokers were in raptures.</p> <p><b> Venezuela</b></p> <p>Government restriction on smoking in one of the most smoking countries in the world came into force on May 31st, 2007.</p>
